Dear Students, Parents/Guardians
Thank you for visiting the Springfield Middle School website. We are very
proud of our staff, students, parents, and community. We have a
comprehensive middle school program in place where young adolescents can
succeed and thrive. Students are our focus and we are very proud to claim
one of the best student bodies in the nation. It is our hope that our
students will be academically challenged and that all students are involved in
at least one school activity. I enjoy relaying the message to our
students that a happy student is an involved student.
We want our school to be an
inviting school where parents, the community, and visitors feel welcome.
It does take a large number of people to educate our students and we want this
community of stakeholders to be a part of our school. Please visit with
us and I believe that you will feel the warmth when you walk in the front door.
Your opinion of our school will only make us more inviting. Please let us
know about your visit and/or your experience with Springfield Middle School.
Springfield Middle School is a
great place for students to learn and begin the journey to adulthood. We
are proud to have been designated as a Schools to Watch school by the National
Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform during this past school year. The National Forum looks for middle schools
that are developmentally responsive, are socially equitable, and have academic
excellence. Support for student success is at the forefront of what we
do. We work to provide the best
education and transition into high school possible. We embrace the middle
school philosophy because we believe that it is best for our students.
There are teams of students in each grade level composed of a group of students
with teachers for each academic subject (Math, Science, Language Arts, and
Social Studies). Teaming provides
opportunities for better communication with parents and the best learning
opportunities for students.
If you have questions, please call, email, or
write. We welcome your comments, suggestions, and questions. Thank
you for caring about public education and your student.
