Assessment and Accountability

  • On April 12, 2016, the South Carolina State Board of Education voted to implement a 10-po‚Äčint grading scale effective in the 2016-2017 school year.

    This 10-point grading scale will:

    replace the previous 7-point grading scale.
    become effective on August 15, 2016.
    NOT be retroactive.
    cover all high school courses as well as high school courses taught in middle school.
    also be used as the grading policy for grades 2 – 12 (pending Fort Mill School Board approval).

    The scale is as follows:

    A = 90-100

    B = 80-89

    C = 70-79

    D = 60-69

    F = 59 and below

    This new scale mandated by the state of South Carolina will take time for schools and parents to adjust to this change. Please let us know if you have questions.
